A Notary Public has additional authority to notarize documents, certify true copies of original documents, and authenticate signatures for use in Canada or internationally. No. Please do not sign your document before your appointment unless you have been specifically instructed to do so. In most cases, the document must be signed in the presence of the Notary Public or Commissioner for Oaths. If the document has already been signed, we may not be able to notarize or commission it.

Every person signing a document must bring one valid government-issued photo identification. Acceptable forms of identification include:

• Alberta Driver's Licence

• Alberta Identification Card

• Canadian Passport

• Permanent Resident Card

• Secure Certificate of Indian Status

• Other valid government-issued photo identification

The name on your identification should match the name appearing on the document. If it does not, please contact us before your appointment.

Yes. We can certify true copies of many original documents. Please bring the original document with you, as photocopies cannot be certified without first reviewing the original. We are pleased to provide complimentary photocopying for documents that are fewer than five pages.

Yes. Bridgestone Law offers a convenient Travel Consent Form Service designed to simplify the process for separated and divorced parents.

Either the travelling parent or the non-travelling parent may begin the process. The travelling parent can complete our secure online form, provide the travel details, and make payment in advance. We will prepare the travel consent document and arrange an appointment for the non-travelling parent to attend our office to review and sign the document before a Notary Public.
